According to the report, typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-Wong) has intensified further as it moves westward over the Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Saturday morning.

As of 11:00 a.m., the center of Uwan was estimated at 680 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph. It is moving westward at 35 kph.

According to PAGASA, Uwan may continue to intensify and could reach the super typhoon category by Sunday, November 9, as it draws strength from the warm waters of the Philippine Sea.

It starts raining now here in Mindanao, and the wind is also blowing terribly fast. It is so scary, though my region is far from Luzon, where the typhoon rampages. God Bless the Philippines.

Personally, hearing about Typhoon Uwan intensifying fills me with a mixture of concern and empathy. Although my region is far from Luzon, it's always alarming to know that these storms can cause so much damage and affect so many lives. The force of the wind and rain you describe is truly terrifying, and it demonstrates just how powerful nature can be when unleashed in the form of a typhoon. It's important that communities in Uwan's path take all necessary precautions and follow the instructions of the authorities to stay safe. The situation also reminds us of our vulnerability to these weather phenomena, which are becoming increasingly intense due to climate change. I hope everyone in the affected area can find shelter and that the storm doesn't cause further damage. My thoughts are with everyone facing this threat in the Philippines.
