According to the Bangkok Post, the incident began when Viacheslav Leibov visited his friends, Alfred Chernyshuk and Arman Grigoryan at a hotel in Thailand, but while in the bathroom he was ambushed by two masked men, and forced to transfer 500k USDT, after long negotiations Leibov finally only transferred 250 USDT, so that he would be safe. Leibov was also tied up on the bed, but after being able to free himself he immediately reported to the Kamala police station, Phuket. The police acted quickly and managed to arrest four suspects at the Palm Inn Hotel, Phang Nga, one of the four suspects was identified as Arman Grigoryan.
