The United States government has asked citizens to help the government clear the $36 Trillion national debt owed by the government. Citizens can pay via Venmo on pay.gov or can use PayPal to pay also.

This method does not guarantee that all will pay. May be increasing taxes could be a sure way. In India there is GST

That debts level is too much. There is no way the citizens would contribute to do much about the debts level. They should start selling national assets.
