New York State Police say at least five people are now dead after a tour bus crashed in western New York on Friday. Officials originally believed at least one child had died, but New York State Troop Commander Andre Ray later confirmed that no children died. According to police, the bus – with more than 50 passengers onboard – lost control and rolled over near Pembroke, about 30 miles east of Buffalo. People inside were ejected as the windows shattered. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The company operating the tour is called M&Y Tour Inc. out of Staten Island. The bus was on a trip from New York City to Niagara Falls and was returning to New York City. No other patients have life-threatening injuries.
A lively and memorable tour ended with a road mishap. The driver might be so tired. There should be two or three drivers during a field trip to avoid an accident like this. May all those deceased rest in peace.
