According to the report, the US Army has purchased tactical mapping drones fitted with advanced cameras and sensors from EagleNXT through its German partner company Dronivo GmbH.
The report stated that the sale, with an undisclosed price, comprises six eBee TAC drones equipped with S.O.D.A. 3D cameras and Duet M sensors that combine normal and multispectral imaging, and features activated RTK/PPK capabilities for precise positioning.
According to the company, the systems can create maps with centimeter-level accuracy and detailed 3D models, and operate effectively in challenging or remote areas without the need for extensive ground control points.
Additionally, potential military uses include border surveillance and reconnaissance, mapping for operational planning, intelligence-gathering, search and rescue, counterinsurgency operations, as well as training and simulation activities.
