According to the report, a US Navy F-35 fighter jet crashed near the Naval Air Station Lemoore in central California. Videos from the crash site show thick plumes of black smoke rising from the site. The pilot ejected safely and was assisted by the emergency medical services crew at the scene. In a statement, the US Navy said the aircraft was assigned to a striker squadron known as the "Rough Raiders". While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, the incident has mounted criticism of the Lockheed Martin jet, which is one of the most advanced warplanes in the world. In January this year, a US Air Force F-35A crashed during a training mission in Alaska. Just weeks ago, a British Royal Navy F-35B made global headlines after it remained grounded in India for over a month due to a hydraulic failure, which was unserviceable. In recent years, the Lockheed Martin F-35 programme has been fraught with challenges.

Proper monitoring and checking of technicalities are essential before the flight starts to avoid a mishap like that .
