According to the report, Quantum tech is taking flight on America’s hydrogen-powered drones, thanks to a new partnership between IonQ and Heven AeroTech.
The report also stated that the collaboration will explore using IonQ’s quantum networking tools to establish secure communication links between unmanned platforms. Quantum computing systems will also support route planning and the integration of drone and satellite imagery.
The report added that quantum sensors will provide alternative positioning and navigation to counter GPS interference, enhancing the drones’ resilience, stealth, and autonomous capabilities in contested environments.
In addition, the company holds four Air Force Research Laboratory contracts, each around $100 million, advancing quantum computing and secure networking for next-gen command-and-control systems.
