So, I was reading something about how the US apparently had a chat with Venezuela's justice minister right before Maduro got arrested. Thing is, I can't stop thinking about the the role that diplomacy plays in situations like these.
I find it almost unbelievable how much these behind-the-scenes conversations impact what happens in the end. It's like there's this whole other game being played that we only see glimpses of.
What really gives me pause is how secretive everything is. I have to ask, what would happen if there more openness? To me, the most important thing is they let people know what's going on. You can't just make things up as you go along and expect people to trust what's happening. Why can't we know what decisions are made?
When it comes down to it, to me this whole situation just screams, geopolitics. It's like watching a chess match between countries; each move planned and thought out way in advance.
