When two parties enter into a business negotiation, it is an opportunity for them to forge a business relationship that could be very beneficial long term.

That's why it is always advised that business people don't take hard lines to try and win a business negotiation. It can kill that opportunity to build business relationships.
 
When it comes to making negotiations between two parties, i believe the best thing is to transparent.
And also to know when to compromise. Transparency and still holding a hard stance can send bad signals about your personality.
