The report said that US Vice President JD Vance clarified his remarks on European peacekeeping forces saying he "had not mentioned France or Britain by name" after backlash in London and Paris. He questioned whether an "Anglo-French coalition of the willing" could enforce a ceasefire in Ukraine and argued that many countries offering support "have neither the battlefield experience nor the military equipment to do anything meaningful." UK PM Keir Starmer said Britain was "prepared to back this with boots on the ground and planes in the air" as he proposed a "coalition of the willing" for Ukraine. French PM François Bayrou said suspending US arms deliveries meant "abandoning the country under attack" and was "absolutely unbearable" for Europe.
It will be crucial for the European countries to continue planning to help Ukraine when according to US Vice President Vance they lack the equipments for war, on the USA can have all these. The US VP Vance doesn't even mention the UK or France yet they both immediately go on the defensive . They must be more self-aware than anybody thinks , and when anyone in the EU mentions wanting "peace" they actually mean "victory" .But it might be speculative. Let us just wait and see for the results. It is too early to judge.
