According to the report in Afghanistan: Suicide Bomb Attack Kills Taliban Refugee Minister Khalil Ur-Rahman Haqqani. He was killed in a suicide bombing in Kabul on December 11.
The report said that the blast, claimed by Islamic State, was reported at the refugee ministry’s office. The Taliban has blocked the roads leading to the refugee ministry’s office and has deployed security personnel outside the office.
The report also stated that the deceased minister Haqqani was on the US and UN’s sanctions list. He was a "Specially designated global terrorist" and had a $5 million bounty on his head, placed by the US.
The report added that Haqqani was also the brother of Haqqani Network founder Jalaluddin Haqqani. The group staged some of the most violent attacks in Afghanistan during the Taliban's two-decade-long insurgency.
The Taliban government condemned the “cowardly attack," calling the minister a “great fighter."
How could he be a great fighter when he was a notorious terrorist and wanted worldwide with a bounty on his head by the US government?
