According to the latest report, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was underway in the Gaza Strip Sunday, beginning an initial six-week period of calm and raising hopes for an end to the 15-month war.
The report said that hostages Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, and Doron Steinbrecher arrived at a hospital in Tel Aviv in "stable condition," according to officials.
In a statement, President Biden said four more women will be released in seven days. The truce, which started at 11:15 a.m. local time, is the first step toward ultimately ending the conflict and returning nearly 100 hostages abducted in Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack.
A three to 1800 ratio does not seem particularly equal in this deal. Neither does the fact that 200 of those 1800 are murderers. While the three are young women who abided by the law and served their country. Do you think the world will see that? No. Today was the youngest Bibas child's second birthday. He's still being held. I think Hamas doesn't know where many of these hostages are. And, that, by international law is their responsibility. Also, want to remind everyone there was a ceasefire in place on Oct. 6th which Hamas broke. Then they begged for another one, and Israel agreed, but they again broke it by killing three unarmed Israelis at a bus stop waiting to go to work. And they tried to change the terms of this agreement after they'd all agreed by saying they wanted to determine which prisoners(remember some are murderers) were exchanged. So, don't be surprised if they break the third ceasefire too. But we rejoice at the young girls who are reunited with their families.- One viewer said.
