According to the report, on the eve of the third anniversary of the Russia- Ukraine war, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he would be willing to "step down" from his presidency in exchange for NATO membership for his country. His remarks followed a recent statement from US President Donald Trump, who described Zelensky as a "dictator without elections."
The report said that Zelensky emphasized that his primary focus was on Ukraine's security and that it was not his "ambition" to remain president for a decade.
The report added that on Monday, leaders from the EU and around the world are expected to visit Kyiv to express their support for Ukraine and discuss security guarantees. Zelensky mentioned that Ukraine's potential NATO membership would be a topic of discussion at the meeting. He expressed hope that the meeting would serve as a "turning point."
