Every move you make here in my country, there is a corresponding tax equivalent. And these are the following:
  • Fly- travel tax;
  • Donate- Donor’s tax;
  • Die- Estate tax;
  • Work- Income tax;
  • Buy rice or sardines- VAT;
  • Buy a house- Stamp, transfer, and property taxes;
  • Drive- Excise user’s and registration fees;
  • Load- Excise + VAT;
  • Save in a bank- Withholding tax, and
  • Win the lotto- taxed too.
From food to death, from savings to luck- everything is taxable. EXCEPT CORRUPTION, that one’s never taxed, but always profitable.What a shame.

You have described with pain and truth the situation that many citizens face—taxes at every step, but corruption is not touched. It is difficult to understand why the tax system represents a burden for ordinary citizens, while those in power benefit without accountability.

It is very important for society to continue to speak out about these situations. When we demand transparency and justice, we stimulate real change. Taxes are essential for development, but they must be spent responsibly and equitably.

If corruption is eliminated, national revenues can be directed to better services such as education, health, and infrastructure.

Corruption is like a disease hard to cure if it is deadly like cancer, so with corruption. It continues to rotate and never ceases. No matter what the citizens shout out their demands to reduce the taxes, nothing is heard.
