What are computers with DOS operating systems used for?

While DOS based computers were popular several decades ago, at present most people use Windows computers. However, some DOS based computers are still being sold online at a low price. Does any know how the computers with DOS operating system are used?

I only see DOS computers used today in smaller Point of Sale machines. I don't see much application of it.
