By now, we all know that crypto prices are highly volatile. Having the right position is a key strategy for crypto traders and investors to profit from price movements. There are two main strategies I often hear about in crypto trading: long and short positions. Therefore, in my opinion, traders and investors should master how both long and short positions work. So, my question is: what are long and short positions in the crypto world, and when should we use them?

It is not just cryptocurrency trading, in forex it is the same, "long" positions are when you open a buy operation speculating that the price will increase in value from the price you opened the operation and "short" operations are the inverse, that is, sell operations speculating that the price will go down from the price you opened the operation, in forex and in futures (cryptocurrencies) they are called the same, in binary options it is called "up and down" up for buy, down for sell
