It is true that crypto transactions can't be traced to any person. That means if you send crypto to a wrong wallet, there is no way to contact the person that it was a mistake for the person to return such crypto.

What are the best standard practices to ensure that in sending crypto, we don't send to the wrong wallet?

So that you don't make a mistake when sending crypto either to your own address or to an exchange, make sure you use the same blockchain, especially for stablecoins. In addition, make sure that before you confirm the sending, check first whether the crypto address you copied and pasted is correct, also pay attention to blockchain fees.

The best option is to scan the address QR code, this will never create issues with sending on the wrong address
Have never used the QR code scanning to do crypto transactions. Seems it would be safer than having to copy wallet addresses.
