Customer Service (CS) is a department or section of a company/business responsible for providing customer service, both before and after a transaction, to ensure customer satisfaction. In small businesses/companies, the customer service role is often handled by the business owner, while larger businesses generally have a dedicated customer service department or team with trained and professional staff to interact with customers. There are various types of customer service, such as walk-in customer service, similar to a bank office, where customers interact directly with customer service. Customer service can also be provided via email, phone, social media, etc.
 
For me, customer service is there to provide support and build confidence. They answer questions, solve issues, guide new users, and keep things smooth. Without it, a business can lose customers quickly because people don’t like feeling ignored. A friendly, helpful CS person can sometimes be the reason you stick with a company.
 
Customer service plays an important role in a business. The responsibility of a customer service personnel or the owner in small business is to provide customer support before and after the sales, and handle complaints. Good customer service can gain the trust of customer in the business.
 
Only huge malls and big stores are offering customer services. This ensures that all customers will be attended by the Customer Service Department in relation to claims of of lost goods, items, franchise agreements, rents of the different business renters and more.
