What are the Impacts of an Inactive Credit Card?

Many of us have credit cards but they are not active or no longer used, because when we make credit cards we are often tempted by promos or only for certain purposes such as PayPal verification, etc. so after that we don't use credit cards to make purchases of goods and services. Of course there will be many negative impacts on your finances if you don't activate your credit card. So in your opinion, what are the negative impacts if a credit card is not active?

In my case, it didn't happen to me the time that I still had a credit card. It was always active, but I surrendered my credit card after the first was caught by fire and the surcharges of interest were triple after 3 years. I have not traced the bank because it was merged and dunno its affiliated bank. When I learned about the location of their branch, I was so shocked. My credit was tripled, so I surrendered it instantly. I no longer aspire to have it.
