What are the key factors that can improve the online sales for green grocery?

There is a neighbour of mine
that started selling green groceries online some times back. However the sales are not good and most products get damaged because of lack of market. What do you actually say about that?

How does the neighbor advertise the product? It's possible they are not making enough awareness, hence they are not making enough sales.

With green products I would rather wait for orders and tell them when I can deliver so that I deliver them fresh than buying to store

The business is very technical in terms of making promotion and marketing for it. I think that business can better perform when operated offline.
