What are the possible reasons that a computer would power on and would not display.

A friend's laptop just stopped displaying on the monitor. It would fully power but the display would not come up.

What could be the possible reasons why a laptop would just not display? What are the possible troubleshooting to do to rectify the issue?

There may be a problem with the connecting cable or wiring, this is a problem I am facing regularly with some of my computers and wasting time almost daily.

Not sure though, but the screen might be faulty, it would be best to seek the help of a repair man to check it.

First of all, you would have to check the display connections to the motherboard. If it is intact, then you look at the motherboard itself.
