A cafe with a simple, aesthetic and comfortable building will be liked by many visitors. I do not have any idea about a facility that attracts customers. Apart from a free wi fi I think the toilets must be super clean, floor tiles attractive and hanging plants must surround the area to let the customers feel cool.

In addition to wifi and clean toilets, I often see smokers sitting in the smoking area or outdoor area so that these smokers do not disturb other visitors. So cafe owners must be able to separate the room between smokers and non-smokers.

Depends on audience you have. I know bars where workers go and they don't have expense coffee and they always prepare TV for football since they like watch it. Sometimes owner prepare free barbeque or low prices on beer during that night.
