What do the movies Limitless and Wanted have in common?

In the space of a week, I watched two movies: Limitless (2011), a thriller/sci-fi movie, and Wanted (2008), an action/thriller/fantasy movie. Although these two movies have completely different plots, I found many common elements. These include:
Protagonists who start out as ordinary people but discover they have extraordinary potential.
The protagonists' transformation, thanks to these extraordinary powers, into almost superheroes. Spectacular action sequences, i.e., things that are impossible in reality. The ability to control their extraordinary abilities.
In this regard, I'd like to ask if anyone who, like me, has seen both of these movies, noticed any notable similarities between them?

Obviously that mine was just a figure of speech. That said, even if you don't have the opportunity or the pleasure of seeing them again, it's all the same. Thank you anyway.
