I have heard of companies being listed on Stock for exchanges like the New York Stock exchange. What does it mean for a company to get listed on the stocks of exchange of a country? Which kinds of companies qualify to be listed on a stock exchange like the New York Stocks Exchange?

For me l know that if a company is listed on the stock exchange market, the companies are mostly likely to be public limited company for that matter
