There are so many cryptos in the world and we have lost count of them all. For someone that is enthusiastic about building a crypto token, what are the things that such a person has to put in place in terms of tools and capital outlay to build a crypto token?

It will be easier for you to create tokens than coins, tokens run on other blockchains so we only need to use smart contracts, while to create coins you need the skills to create your own blockchain.
Do I really need to have lots of money to create my own token? Like how much would it take for me to pull that off?

The cost to create your own token will depend on the blockchain you use, such as the Ethereum blockchain, Solana, Tron, Cardano etc., for the Ethereum blockchain the fee is around 0.01 ETH plus gas fees, of course other blockchains are cheaper. The length of time required will depend on your readiness, such as name, token type, logo, total token supply, etc.

It is not really a big cost like that that. I thought it would take close to $30k to create a token. I can see why there are almost unlimited number of tokens.
