What is Distro on Linux?

I am not used to all the Linux parlance but I keep hearing them talking about different kinds of Distros in Linux. I seem to get lost on the idea of Distros. What does Distros represent in Linux?

Is it like different types of Linux? And what are the factors that affect the different Distros?

A distro in Linux are sets of software that are configured to work together. They always aim to achieve a particular purpose. We might have gaming Distros and so on.
