What is the best brand for the digital camera?

For me l have developed the interests in the photography. So l would like to purchase a digital camera but little do l know who which is which. l would like to use it for the normal photographing works. What are the possible suggestions?

A lot of photographers tend to make use of canon, so am guessing it's canon or at least canon should be one of them.

I think the best brands of digital cameras are the Sony cameras. I have not really heard of any camera brand that works as well as Sony.

I have heard about sony cameras from a few persons, and it seems to be pretty good, but i haven't tried it myself though.

Based on my personal experience with Canon, I received it as a gift when I was younger, and I enjoyed taking photos with it. It lasted for a long time.
