There are different reasons that makes people to start the creation of websites. These ranges from the domain flipping to creation of websites just for a personal pleasure or hobby. What is your take on that?

I do not have website right now, but if I do decide to start one, my primary reason would be to promote and expand my business.

I build websites for generating revenue, however, when I created my first website it was for sheer pleasure of owning a website.
I build websites as a hobby and fun.
I’m not into domain flipping as it’s not a business that I want to do.
the primary objective is to make money, of course, then showcasing my skills , and also upgrading my skills to the next level
it is to help create content for what I created the website for. I can use it to blog or advertise my business
Monetization from ads doesn't make a lot of money, there are ready platforms like publish0x to do this, monetization from sales could bring sunstable amount of money or even place banners to get sales.
Are you running a website or a blog? If so, what ad companies are you using? Monetization from ads can generate a lot if you’re getting a decent amount of traffic and the ads are placed well.
Placing a lot of ads has reversal effect so people will avoid your website unlike placing some ads that doesn't disturb user navigation, this is the common error between admins.
I started my site because it's been my dream to run a online poker room. My poker forum is me taking a step in that direction. I eventually plan to code my own poker software/room, but I'm partnered with existing poker sites to grow my community, and earn revenue.

I recently created a domainwebsite to showcase my skills and hope to earn some income through affiliate marketing, Google AdSense, and other avenues. In addition, I started this to help improve my mental health.
Not exactly. You can have 2 ads and that’s not off putting. More than 2 is off putting. It all depends on the placement of the ads.

You will eventually earn more from your own website from monetization compared to sites like publish0x or even Medium. The main thing is you need advanced level skills to bring in traffic
