Basically investing is putting or buying an instrument in the hope of making a profit or increasing the value of the instrument. Most people invest to make capital gains, regular income from interest or dividends and compound growth which means for the long term or old age every return will be reinvested. Everyone has different reasons, here are some possible reasons why people invest or you have your own answer or different reasons.
