That is too much walking half of the distance. Indeed the cost of everything this time doubles. There were times I commuted instead of driving my car when the gasoline was too expensive. I spent $ 200 a month for gasoline. I have to budget for it.

At least here in my country, fuel prices are always the same. A while ago, things were really expensive, but nowadays taking an Uber is sometimes cheaper than taking a bus or car.

I think that at this level, one really has to be in the upper middle class to be able to own and maintain a car. They don't charge for parking though on my country.

I go out every 10 to 15 days to reduce the cost of transportation.

Over here most people have not sold their cars, but they now make use of public transports just to move around.
