What was the difference between Windows 8 and Windows 8.1?

The Windows operating system is the most popular operating system for desktop computers. I am stuck on running either a Windows 8 OS or a Windows 8.1 OS on my laptop.

I want to know what the real differences between the two operating systems are? What are the strengths of each?
