What would make a customer leave a similar business that is very close to their house to patronize another?

I have seen people leave grocery stores, fashion stores and other kinds of essential businesses that are located around their homes to patronize ones that are far from them. What do you think the customer gets that they won't mind distance to patronize a particular dealer?

it is mostly the price because I do this. Where I get goods cheaper I go to guy from them.

It is called customer loyalty. And it is always earned through either one of quality products or superior customer service.

In this case, the price and quality of the products must be better than the ones near the person's location. Good customer service also plays an important role.

Customers might switch to a competitor, even if it's farther away, due to poor customer service, inferior product or service quality.

There are several reasons for this, in most cases it could be due to quality products and services or a cheaper price, then there are cases where it's simply because they have a friend there.
