When should you give the job to apprentice to do?

For some people that have apprentices working with them, at which point would you give a complete job to the apprentice to complete? Have you ever given a job to your apprentice to complete from start to finish?

An apprentice that has been with you long enough and has mastered the skill can be given the job with supervision.
