I have heard people severally saying that a particular content failed. A friend of mine complained to recently that his attempt at content marketing failed.

What does it mean when they say a content failed? It didn't convert? It didn't get much traction?

Describing content as a failure often indicates that it did not achieve the desired results. It may not generate enough engagement among viewers, or it may not generate the expected change in terms of clicks, sales, or leads. Therefore, labeling content as a failure may indicate that it did not gain traction on social media, was not seen by many people, or had no tangible commercial impact on the brand. Therefore, failure can be related to visibility or business performance, and the term is often used to describe disappointment with the results of a campaign.

There is a reason behind every content. It is either the content is ment to attract a target audience, or to pass a specific message. When they say a content failed, it means it was not able to pass the intended message.

When people say content failed, what they actually mean is the content failed to deliver what you had desired when creating it. It could be fewer reach or engagement or no or low conversion

Poor-quality content is when you're creating and publishing something that does not serve the purpose for your target audience or ideal customer persona.
