They remain powerful and through their money, they can hire the best investigator and negotiator and the poor kidnapper will only end up dead. That is the power of money and for the common man, he could acquire wealth through his bright mind, through his mindset, and long tolerance of hardships. That is what everyone must do to work harder and change life for the better from being poor to being somebody who is not afraid to climb to richness to acquire anew version of himself through investment or business.
