Which is a good alternative to Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is renowned as a pioneer word processing software. Are there alternatives to it that can be as functional and good as it is? Which word processor would you recommend to replace Microsoft Word?
I recommend LibreOffice. It's a fork off of OpenOffice. LibreOffice is free to own, and has versions of it available for iOS and Android.

I have seen so many people using the Libre office app and I would also want to believe it is quite good.

I am very much used to MS Word. I have used Google Docs and that too provides most of the features from Word. I have not used it much to explore all its features. I am so habitual to Words for so many years now, it has become a default habit and I have never given a thought to replace it.

LibreOffice is also the Linuxian default productive suite: I have the suite installed on both Ubuntu and Debian devices. It's a valid alternative to Microsoft Office, together with OpenOffice, but the only mishap is some universities that refuse whatever productive suite but Microsoft Office, forcing their students to stick with Microsoft products. Remembering Microsoft products are shamefully expensive (so not a big deal for students), while LibreOffice and OpenOffice are for free open sources.
