When you run an affiliate marketing business, you cannot fully control the product, the selling price, so you only market the product and rely on other people's businesses and unfortunately, repeat customer purchases do not go to the link/banner that you have provided on your website but customers tend to go directly to the store that you have made affiliate marketing.
In the dropshipping business you are free to sell products and determine the price so that it will make a profit that may be higher than the commission on affiliate marketing. Customers do not know who your dropshipper is so when they are going to repurchase the product, they will go to your website.

I would say it really depends. Even though with affiliate marketing you get to maybe make a profit once of, imagine a senerio where you have actually managed to drive a kot of people to purchase an item once of. As comapred to droppshipping where making a sale is difficult. Yes you will sell an item with some profit but what if you only get to drive a large number and only get one sale.

I don't know if one can be considered more lucrative than the other though. It mostly depends on the persons doing this, and the amount of work they put in.

I think it a little bit more easier to make a sale on dropshipping compared to the affliate marketing as of me.

I think that dropshipping would be more lucrative. You just have to get the customers what they want to make money
