Who should hold the keys to the entrance doors of an organisation.

I just passed by a business organisation this morning and I discovered the that staff who came early to work are waiting for the doors of the organisation to be open for them to gain entrance.

That leads me to ask the question, "who should hold the keys to the entrance doors of an organisation"? Is it a co-staff, the manager or the business owner?

I think it should be security naturally unless they was a person assigned before now but if not a security should suffice

For my business, I have a key and my staff had a key too. But she misplaced hers and I had to change the keys and didn't give her any of it again.

It is better to give it to a trusted person too. That you are sure the person is always punctual to work to get the entrance door open on time.

In this case it might not be the business owner himself or herself holding the key. It's possible that the person in charge came late that particular day due to one issue or the other. A trust worthy person who comes early should be the key holder.

For the previous organisation that l used to work in , the keys for the office in the workplace was being handled by the manager. They would instruct the Assistant managers if at all they would miss out to attend the job in particular days.
