Why are some laptops taking a long time to start?

Usually when I use a desktop or smartphone it will start within one minute and I can use it for doing work. In contrast when I start my laptop it is taking a very long time to start, usually 5 minutes or more. What is the reason for the long delay?

the longer you have it the slower it will be it is normal over time at times when my computer is slow I delete everything and it works better maybe because of viruses perhaps I do not know

5 minute is too much, but this happens due to many reasons like when the laptop is affected with virus, or when it don't have enough free storage and RAM or when there is some apps that runs when the laptop starts.

To many programs in startup, had drive instead of ssd drive, slower boot option but less energy consuming.
