Why can't solar power be utilized for heavy equipment?

I have come to discover that solar power is only utilized for small equipment that can't consume much power. I thought that solar power would provide cheaper alternatives to generate power. Why can't solar power be used to power heavy electrical equipment?

If you have a solar system with sufficient solar panels, solar system can generate power for a heavy equipment.

It depends on the power consumption of the heavy equipment. Theoretically it is possible to use multiple solar panels for generating more power, practically it may not be possible.

But the other alternative would be to go for heavy equipment that use Direct Current. It would be powered by solar power easily.
