Why do distributors need to put the address of the manufacturer in labelling?

I see that for many products, the address of the manufacturer is always in the labelling even when the manufacturer isn't the one that packed the product. Won't it make customers to directly buy from the manufacturer and boycott the distributor? Why would a distributor advertise the manufacturer in the packaging!

Most times, it is simply because the distributor might not want to be liable for any adverse effect on a customer.

By including the manufacturer's address, consumers and regulatory bodies can easily identify and contact the manufacturer with questions, complaints, or concerns about the product.

If the distributor leaves out the manufacturer from the labelling, that means they want to claim to manufacture the product. And that is not ethical.
