We often encounter sites that prohibit their users from using proxies/VPN. Many countries even prohibit their citizens from using proxies/VPN, such as China, North Korea, Belarus, Turkey, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uganda, etc.

There are many ways a website can prevent users from using proxies, such as using software that can directly blacklist IP addresses that use proxies, or software that can analyze internet connection patterns (scraping), or verify DNS.

So, why do you think so many websites prohibit users from accessing using proxies/VPN?

Many websites do not allow the use of proxy servers or VPNs as they are often used to conceal the user's location and true identity. This causes security and fraud issues. Some users try to bypass content restrictions or log in to multiple accounts without supervision, which websites block to protect data and prevent abuse. Websites also face licensing issues and regional restrictions, which limit the visibility of certain content to only specific websites. Therefore, using a VPN is considered a violation of these rules, and many websites prohibit this practice.
