Why do you think most entrepreneurs fail to retain customers?

I have realised that most entrepreneurs are not in the position to retain customers for so long. Most business managers get patronisation from different types of consumers for mostly short duration of times. Like they are most likely getting new customers but not in a position to retain them on their business for long. What do you think is the reason behind that?

They have a customer understanding problem. Retention only becomes hard when a brand doesn't know: who its customers are, - why they buy, - what makes them stay.

I think one major reason is their lack of consistency in the quality of the products which makes it hard to build trust.

Some businesses fail to retain customers simply because either the business person or staff of the business has been harsh to customers.

Powerful companies are often ruthless in destroying competition, they are able to rob data and later the customers offering them a better deal.
