Why do you think some products wouldn't record higher sales even when their prices are being slashed by 50%

This is because some goods that seems to be habitual like the cigarettes, alcohol with other products tend to maintain the same level of sales even if when the prices are brought down no matter how.

Those products that don't record good sales even with 50% discounts could be because of wrong market.

They might just be low quality products. The thing is that products that are of low quality wouldn't be appealing to a lot of people

They might be products that really don't cater to the general public. Some of these products can be a way of getting rid of it because it has been in the inventory for too long and no one is buying them - hence they slash the prices.

People don't just like the product again. Maybe it had been replaced by a better and valuable alternative

Cigarettes and alcohol have addicted consumers who tend to be fixed, so price increases/decreases do not affect their needs, for example if in your city for example cigarette and alcohol addicts are only 10% of the total population then only 10 consume cigarettes and alcohol.

Of course there are products that their demand would remain constant even when the prices are slashed down by more than 50%. For instance products like table salt and so on

I would agree that products that people don't need, they won't buy even if it is sold for a cent. It is the harsh realities.
