Why do you think that the phone memory doesn't fill up?I oftenly see

For me l oftenly see the phone's memory for instance being 8GB. Therefore the phone tends to warn, insufficient memory when the used up memory is about 5.5GB. Why is it that way?

The phone is designed in such a way that it will start giving you information before the phone will crash. Phone need space for it to operate effectively. If your phone is warning you, increase the storage by add memory card on the phone and do cleaning with strong cleaner like AVG
