We all know when you are looking for apps in a mobile operating system, android has got it. On the other hand, it seems as if apps are always scarce for iOS. Why is it that iOS has far less apps than Android?

Don't know why but this is one reason I will always prefer android, to me ios feel too limited when it comes to what you can do with it.
It is how Apple Inc intended it to be. They just closed their entire system. Android is open source and any developer can just jump in and be creative with apps.

Not all apps can be downloaded by iPhone mobile, even Android can download apps outside of GooglePlay. So the main reason why iOS doesn't have as many apps as Android phones is because iOS is more selective in choosing apps that can be installed on iPhone mobiles, so iPhones are safer than Android.

Yes that's true, it is more like an open and close system. When it comes to iOS, they are limited and not as open as android.

But it kinda limits the iOS in some ways that the users not be able to enjoy the utilities that android users enjoy.

Really, it breaks down to one thing. Apple makes it extremely difficult to write code to and then put the finished product on the Apple Store, because they require all app makers to include coding that makes it extremely difficult to work with and update in the future. There are multiple steps required from Apple, that makes publishing anything on there, so much of a hassle, that the individual or company producing stuff for Apple Store, has to take a loss in income from it, due to the immense effort it takes to have anything listed.

Even with popular games that you know of that are cross store listed, the owners of those games tend to get on the average less than 0.5% of their revenue from the Apple Store, because of how hard it is to keep things up to date with Apple, because of their development and update process.

You are right, iOS users cannot enjoy the utility like Android users, which is due to iOS being very strict on developer requirements, unlike Android which lacks oversight or no monitoring of GooglePlayStore, making it vulnerable to malware. Android apps can also be distributed from anonymous websites, so that user information can be easily hacked or misused.

Most iPhone users are comparatively wealthy and do not use technology extensively, they mainly use it for making and receiving phone calls and a few other applications .
