Why would the fingerprint scanner on my phone no longer recognize my saved fingerprint?

I think that I have heard this complaint many times that the fingerprint scanner on mobile phones have failed to recognize the fingerprint of the owner which was saved on the phone. Those people had to format their phones.

What can make a fingerprint scanner on a smartphone not able to recognize a saved fingerprint?

That's weird perhaps the fingers are wet or there is problem of the system. I am not using lock on my phone. It takes time to open.

If your fingers have become dry and cracked, your scanner might not be able to recognize the fingerprint. Another thing could be that the software is outdated.

I think when the phone motherboard is weak or have internal problem, it can result in diverse malfunctions. If the fingerprint is not working, there is need to update the phone and try again.

I think the major culprit is the fingerprint drivers. Maybe, the OP should try updating them to see if this challenge would still keep on happening.

Maybe you should consider updating your phone or its software. Sometimes it is necessary when updates are available. Hehe

I think majority of the times it might be an issue from the finger print itself and not the person. Then there are cases where maybe the hand was not properly placed or wet.
