One component of expenses that dig deep into our finances without us noticing is data subscription and airtime for our phones.

I just met someone and asked her how much she uses to recharge her phone for calls every month, she said she doesn't know. And most of us don't know too.

You should have a strict budget for your data subscription and never deviate from it in order to maintain financial discipline. Check well, you might be spending too much on airtime and data subscription.

What is your data subscription and airtime budget?

My phone doesn't use data plan. I have 24/7 unlimited plan. I and my family use free calls from Skype, Messenger, GoMeet link if many want to meet virtually without limit. But the oldies in the family prefer a direct call phone to phone.

We really need to manage how we spend on data subscription. For me, most of my earnings usually go into data. I am a heavy data user, I am looking for cheaper data plans to use and how I use it though.

The expenses on data subscription looks intangible till we sit down to add them all in a month. It is at that point that we know how much money that we spend on airtime for calls and internet subscription.

My apartment provides free wifi. When their wifi fails, I reload my own, which costs Php 1,200 (about $20) every month.
Why don't you apply for a regular subscription like Globe. Globe has now unlimited usages and the monthly payment is only 1,200 pesos. But mine is Parasat, at 1,200 pesos 24 /7 unlimited.
