I've been thinking of starting a YouTube channel to monetize my passion project, but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort. What's the biggest misconception about YouTube monetization? Should i focus on AdSense or explore other revenue streams?

For me, the biggest mistake many people make when thinking about monetizing YouTube is believing that AdSense will be enough to sustain a channel. The truth is that ad revenue is usually low and highly variable, depending on the topic, audience, and CPM in each country. Personally, I think the smartest approach is to see AdSense as a supplement, not the primary source. The interesting thing is that there are many other, more stable monetization methods: sponsorships, memberships, selling digital or physical products, and even affiliate marketing. For me, the most important thing is that a successful channel doesn't depend solely on views, but on the ability to build a community that trusts your content. Ultimately, I think that if your passion is genuine, diversifying your income streams will be the key to making the effort truly worthwhile.

Yeah it indeed a very demanding work, it also need one to have enough time to publish videos, if not you not make any reasonable amount.
