According to the report, Hamas warned that any Israeli military escalation could result in the deaths of hostages held in Gaza. A spokesperson stated that Israeli threats would not secure the hostages' release and added that Hamas was prepared for further conflict.
The report said that the spokesperson also confirmed that Hamas still has proof of life for the remaining hostages, warning that escalation would likely lead to killings, as has happened before.
Meanwhile, US special envoy Steve Witkoff defended the Trump administration’s recent talks with Hamas, claiming they were within the responsibilities of the special envoy. Witkoff emphasized that President Trump would not tolerate Hamas’ treatment of hostages and warned of further actions if the dialogue failed.
